Douglas steel is currently seeking to hire:
Engineering Manager
Qualifications
Candidate would be responsible for organizing and directing Engineering Department. Answer technical or engineering questions. Ensure operation of Engineering Department is in compliance with current AISC and project requirements. Develop and maintain a team of quality sublet detailing firms. Assist Sales with engineering pricing for bidding purposes.
Experience
Overall understanding of structural steel detailing, fabrication, and erection.
Be familiar with the current American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Code of Standard Practice and the Specification for Structural Steel Buildings.
Ability to perform connection design, stability analysis etc.
Necessary communication skills in order to communicate with other construction professionals.
Highly motivated and adaptable to changing schedules and priorities.
Excellent computer skills; proficient in SDS/2, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Revit, and Tekla.
BS degree in Civil Engineering required.
Licensed engineer in the State of Michigan or have the capacity to earn a P.E. license.
