The new Life Sciences Institute at the University of Michigan is a 230,000 square foot facility consisting of six floors and a mechanical penthouse. This building is designed by the Smith Group to enhance the education, basic research research in the life sciences at the University. Douglas Steel under contract with Barton Malow fabricated and erected 2,100 tons of structural steel on this very restrictive site.
