Our in-house engineering department, including on-staff professional engineers, is capable of self-performing all engineering and shop drawings. During the early phases of a project, we ask more questions due to the fact that once installation starts, everything must fit to avoid substantial delays.
All of our detailers receive extensive in-house training including yearly updates in connection design. This training ensures that our staff is fully aware of the AISC Specification for Structural Steel Buildings, the AISC Code of Standard Practice and RCSC Specification for Structural Joints using High Strength Bolts.
Douglas Steel’s detailers perform under the direct supervision of our Engineering Manager. We are proud of the department’s more than a century of combined experience in pre-construction consultation, value engineering, detail drafting and coordination between design, detailing and production. Douglas Steel has also demonstrated the ability to immediately respond to design changes and drawing revisions.
Because Douglas is in the business of erection, we also understand that stability is a concern on every project; therefore a complete stability analysis is performed preventing potentially disastrous field conditions.
Our clients receive the benefit of a high level of customer service, on-time deliveries, projects completely integrated and coordinated from material procurement through erection and a job well done.
