The new GM is consolidating its metal fabrication facilities into a smaller manufacturing footprint. This required the relocation of a number of presses. Ideal/Barton Malow awarded Douglas Steel a design/build contract to fabricate and erect the floor framing to support the new press operations. Nearly 3,000 tons of heavy steel framing will be installed in three target plants. Ghafari associates is performing the structural design.
