Jim Buzzie is the current CEO of Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee. Jim joined the firm in 1991 and quickly moved through the ranks and previously held many different positions within the organization. He stepped down from the day to day operations as President of Douglas Steel at the beginning of 2019, but will continue to serve in an advisory role to the Management team. He serves as President of Great Lakes Fabricators & Erectors Association and also serves as a management trustee on all IW Local 25 benefit funds.

Mike Harsch is the President of Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation, a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. Rich Steffens is the Engineering Manager of Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation and is a member of the Board of Directors. Rich began his career with the firm in 1992. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the engineering department including scheduling, establishing and monitoring connection design and framing methods to ensure compliance with AISC and project requirements. Rich has previously held the positions of Detailer and Engineering Job Captain.

Christopher Lowe is the Quality and Safety Manager of Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation. He is a member of the Board of Directors. Christopher joined the firm in 1995. He oversees the safety program for both the fabrication facility, and erection crews. He is also responsible for ensuring all work for both plant and field are in accordance with Douglas Steel’s AISC Certified Quality Control Program. Christopher also manages technologies for the firm. Christopher has been a CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) since 2015. He previously held the positions of Engineering Assistant, Detailer, Materials Buyer, Estimator, and Project Manager.

Carrie Colwell is the Sales Manager of Douglas Steel Fabricating Corporation and is a member of the Board of Directors. Carrie joined the firm in 2008. She is responsible for sales, estimating, marketing and business development. She previously held the role of Chief Engineer and Project Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Civil and Environmental Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and is a registered Engineer in the State of Michigan. Carrie is an active member of the Structural Engineers Association of Michigan (SEAMI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and Central Fabricators Association (CFA).
